Carbon Footprint evaluation with Life Cycle Assessment
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is an analysis to assess environmental impacts associated with all the stages of a product’s life, which is from raw material extraction through manufacturing, distribution, use, end of life and recycling.
Aidro supports its clients providing a detailed LCA calculation to compare Additive Manufacturing to conventional production methods.
Standard analysis: LCA cradle-to-gate
Life Cycle Assessment
is a tool that helps us evaluate the sustainability of production processes and stimulate the design optimization.
with design optimization, requires less material and less energies than conventional production and this results into a lower Carbon Footprint.
The case study shown above is intended to compare Conventional Production with Additive Manufacturing of hydraulic manifold with regards to the Global Warming Potential (GWP). The aim is to investigate if there are environmental benefits of using Additive Manufacturing, especially for 3D printed part with design optimization.
Once the assumptions were defined, the model was developed in collaboration with Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and Equinor asa.
Green Powder from the Recycling of Obsolete Parts
New steps towards sustainability with Additive Manufacturing!
Aidro is a proudly partner of the GREEN powder project made with the recycling of obsolete parts by f3nice – Italian startup. This project marks a milestone towards the circular economy : – recycle obsolete parts from “dead stock” – create metal powder for 3D printing – design for AM and 3D print new components at lower CO2 footprint – giving new life to scrap metals
Aidro supports its clients in their Carbon Footprint Reduction plans with the supply of 3D printed parts made with Green Powder
